Fairport Convention release their first new studio in many a moon at the beginnning of March.'Myths and Heroes' features 13 tracks from regular song contributors such as Ralph McTell, Rob Beattie, PJ Wright and Anna Ryder plus new material from bandsmen Chris Leslie and Ric Sanders.

The album was recorded by the ban’s long time soundman John Gale atWoodworm Studios in Barford St Michael , a facility familiar to the band as it was once owned by bass player Dave Pegg

'Myths and Heroes' will be released digitally (1 March) and through the usual outlets (2 March) but you can pre-order from the band’s website - - now.

And . . . this release finds Fairport joining the vinyl revival as 'Myths And Heroes’ will be available as a Limited Edition (500 copies - each signed by the band) 9 track 180g Vinyl LP with gatefold sleeve.It will be released by Proper Music on 2 March but you can pre-order your copy direct from Proper Music right nowhere! Quite why Fairport chose to remove four tracks from this format rather than take the common route and issue a 2LP package goodness knows as it clearly means that died in the wool fans who also happen to be vinylaficionados will end up purchasing two copies in order to have all of the music.
